Middlesex County College Alumni Association Scholarships

The Middlesex County College Alumni Association will offer two scholarships in 2011. The first, called the Middlesex County College Alumni Association Scholarship, is for $500 and is for dependents of MCC alumni. The second, called the MCC Alumni Scholarship for Academic Excellence, is open to any student and is $750.

The deadline for both scholarships is February 17; the awards are made in June. To apply go to www.middlesexcc.edu/foundation and click Scholarships and Financial Aid on the blue bar on the left hand side.

MCC Alumni Association Scholarship
The scholarship is one $500 award.

The criteria for the scholarship are:

The candidate must be a full-time or at least half-time student at Middlesex County College.

  1. He or she must be the dependent of a Middlesex County College alumnus. Dependents of the Alumni Board are ineligible for consideration.
  2. The scholarship will be awarded for the second or later year of study at Middlesex County College.
  3. The Alumni Board will review applications and make the decision.
  4. The factors the Board would use in selecting the recipient include community service, financial need, grade point average and a brief essay.
MCC Alumni Association Scholarship for Academic Excellence
The scholarship will be one $750 award.

The criteria for the scholarship are:
  1. The candidate must be a full-time or at least half-time student at Middlesex County College. The scholarship is open to anyone.
  2. The scholarship will be awarded for the second or later year of study at Middlesex County College.
  3. The scholarship is primarily based on academics; the student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for consideration. Secondary criteria include community service and financial need. The candidate must submit a brief essay that discusses both areas and also outline his or her career goals.
  4. The Alumni Board will review applications and make the decision. Board members and their immediate family are ineligible for consideration.
