MCC Reading Lab
Staff: Evelyn Honey (
Monday: 10:00am - 11:00am
The Reading Center provides scheduled tutorials for students in RDG 009 and for designated sections of RDG 011. However, all students, whether or not they are enrolled in an English or reading class, may seek help during the Center's drop-in hours (listed above). No appointment is necessary. Specific study skills problems are addressed on an individual basis. The Reading Center also offers students the opportunity to apply newly acquired skills to additional reading selections, supplemental computer programs and practice passages so as to increase their effectiveness on standardized tests.
JOIN THE BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP!
Each semester the Reading Center sponsors a Book Discussion Group for any Middlesex County College student interested in “getting into the habit of reading.” The Middlesex County College Book Discussion Group, established in 1995, offers students an opportunity to socialize with other book lovers, to listen to new ideas and viewpoints, and to read and discuss a good book. At the beginning of the semester, members of the group select a novel or non-fiction work they wish to discuss during the rest of the semester. Discussions are held at convenient times, and students are encouraged to bring their lunches. For more information, please email or call Evelyn Ann Honey or Kristin Honey at the Reading Center (see information above.)
