Hit and Run - Parking Lot #6A 10/29/09 12:10 PM
Vehicle #1 was parked facing west. Vehicle #2 attempted to turn into the spot next to Vehicle #1 stricking Vehicle #1. Vehicle #2 then left the scene. A witness provided police with the registration information of Vehicle #2. Vehicle #1 sustained significant damage to its right side rear-end. Closed - C.

HIt and Run - Parking Lot #6A 10/29/09 12:28 PM
Vehicle #1 was parked in Lot 6A. When the driver returned, he found significant damage to the rear driver's side quarter panel. Vehicle #2 fled the scene. There are no known witnesses. Open Case.

Motor Vehicle Accident - College Drive East 10/28/09 12:36 PM
Vehicle #1 was struck by Vehicle #2 at the intersection of Alumni and College Dr. East. Vehicle #1 sustained substantial headlight, quarter panel, bumper and paint damage. Vehicle #2 sustained minor damage to driver's side front bumper. Closed - C.

Criminal Mischief - Gazebo - Edison Hall 10/27/09 05:27 PM
Using a pen, someone wrote an offensive remark on a pumpkin. The victim believes it was a co-worker. The case is being referred to the appropriate supervisory personnel. RTD.

Possession of CDS - Parking Lot #6A 10/26/09 04:40 PM
While on routine patrol, an officer noticed a steady plume of white smoke billowing from a parked vehicle which was occupied by three individuals. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noted a strong scent of marijuana. In clear view of the officer was a half burnt cigar which contained a green leafy substance. One of the suspects acknowledged that it was in fact marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest. Closed - A.

Theft - Technical Services Center 10/26/09 11:35 AM
An individual reported that while she was in TSC her wallet was stolen. It contained a license, gift card, sum of cash and various other items. Open Case.

Medical - South I 10/23/09 10:55 AM
An individual experienced right leg numbness and shortness of breath as a result of an angiogram. The patient was transported to a local hospital. Closed - C.

Theft - Edison Campus 10/23/09 10:32 AM
An individual reported that sometime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on 10/21/09 someone had taken her wallet from her purse. She did not realize that it was missing until 9:00 a.m. on 10/22/09. The suspect used the victim's debit card at several locations outside of campus. Other items missing included credit cards, licenses and MCC ID cards. UPDATE 11/3/09 - A description of the suspect was given to Police after the suspect was seen on surveillance camera video. Open Case.

Theft - L'Hommedieu Hall 10/22/09 08:36 AM
An individual reported that someone had taken a stainless steel newborn transporter from a classroom sometime between 3:00 pm on 10/20/09 and 7:23 am on 10/22/09. Open Case.

Hit and Run - Edison Hall Handicap Lot 10/22/09 04:00 PM
A witness reported seeing Vehicle #2 strike unoccupied Vehicle #1 as it was attempting to exit a parking space. The witness was not able to obtain the complete plate number. Open Case.

Medical - L'Hommedieu Hall 10/21/09 09:00 AM
An individual complained of feeling faint and weak in the legs. EMS was called to the scene and the patient was transported to a local hospital. Closed - C.

Misc. Assist - College Drive East 10/20/09 02:55 PM
A large piece of metal lodged into an individual's tire causing the tire to go flat. Several individuals assisted the victim in changing her tire. Construction is ongoing in the area. Closed - C.

Motor Vehicle Accident - Parking Lot #6 10/20/09 11:07 AM
Vehicle #2 was traveling south in Lot #6 when it was struck on the front passenger corner by Vehicle #1 as it was backing out of a parking space. Vehicle #2 sustained damage to the hood, front right fender, front bumper and headlight. Vehicle #1 sustained minor scratches to the rear passenger side bumper. Closed - C.

Theft - Outside of Library 10/19/09 08:00 PM
An individual reported that someone approached him outside the Libary and requested to use his cell phone. The victim obliged and handed his phone to the suspect. After several minutes, the suspect then took off on foot with the phone. The victim chased the suspect but lost sight of him behind Raritan Hall. The victim was unable to give a description of the suspect. Open Case.

Medical - Physical Education Center 10/19/09 02:10 PM
While attending an event in the gym, an individual complained of feeling very warm, light-headed and weak at the knees. EMS stabilized the patient. The patient was then transported to a local hospital. Closed - C.

Motor Vehicle Accident - Parking Lot #2 10/18/09 07:23 PM
Vehicle #1 was stopped in Lot #2 facing west when Vehicle #2 backed into it. Vehicle #1 sustained a cracked light on the front driver's side. Vehicle #2's rear passenger side bumper was also cracked and scratched. Closed - C.

Hit and Run - Parking Lot #2 10/18/09 12:51 PM
Vehicle #1 was parked in Lot #2 when it was struck by a hit and run driver. Vehicle #1 sustained a crack in the back bumper and a dent from the bottom of the trunk up to the window. There are no known suspects at this time. Open Case.

Motor Vehicle Accident - Parking Lot #6 10/15/09 11:16 AM
Vehicle #1 was traveling north when it was struck on the driver's side door by Vehicle #2. Vehicle #2 made a wide right turn and reportedly slid on the wet roadway. Vehicle #1 sustained substantial paint/dent damage to driver's side door. Vehicle #2 sustained minor cosmetic damage to the front driver's side bumper. No injuries were reported. Closed - C.

Motor Vehicle Accident - Parking Lot #1 10/15/09 05:00 PM
Two individuals came to Headquarters to report that they were involved in an accident in Lot #1. Both drivers reportedly had been backing up when the collision occurred. Both were given self-reports to fill out and return to the NJ Dept. of Transportation. Closed - C.

Motor Vehicle Accident - Parking Lot #6A 10/15/09 09:09 AM
The driver of Vehicle #1 was traveling west through Lot #6 and attempting to park when it struck the driver of Vehicle #2. There was minimal damage to the front end of Vehicle #1 and the rear end of Vehicle #2. Both drivers declined medical attention. Closed - C.

An individual left his backpack in the cafeteria for approximately 1 hour unattended. When he went back to retrieve the backpack, it was no longer there. It had contained a laptop computer. Closed - B.

Assault - College Center 10/15/09 02:43 PM
Officers were called to the building on the report of an assault in progress. Upon the officers' arrival, a woman advised the officers that she and her son had been involved in an altercation and the son had left the area. The son was brought back to the scene where the the investigation continued. The victim was given her rights and chose not to file charges at this time. Referred CSC.

Theft - Parking Lot #5 10/15/09 12:37 PM
A faculty/staff member reported that someone had ripped off a parking decal from his front bumper that was parked in Lot #5. The individual was advised to obtain a new decal. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time. Open Case.

Suspicious Person - New Brunswick Center 10/13/09 07:58 PM
A suspicious individual was trying to enter the New Brunswick Center to supposedly speak with his girlfriend. His explanation for being at the Center did not seem legitimate. The suspect left the scene before police arrived. Closed - C.

Aggressive Driver - Route 1 North to Edison Campus 10/13/09 11:16 AM
An individual reported an aggressive driver had followed him from Route 1 to the parking lot of Police Headquarters of the Edison Campus stating that the suspect at one point tried to run him off the road. A police search for the suspect vehicle yielded negative results. Closed - C.

Verbal Dispute - College Center Cafeteria 10/13/09 09:00 AM
An individual reported that someone had made threatening comments towards her because of some comments she had made to a third party. The victim did not feel threatened at this time. The victim was advised to notify Headquarters should the situation continue. Closed - C.

After conducting a random look-up, an individual was taken into custody when it was discovered that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Arrest.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, suspect continued to disobey orders to remain in the vehicle. Suspect then walked towards the officers; again the suspect was asked to get back in the vehicle. Suspect was subsequently placed under arrest. Closed - A.

A temporary construction fence was blown over by the wind causing damage to a number of vehicles parked in Lot #1. Closed - C.

Two individuals were found to be in violation of the no smoking policy on campus. CSC.

Medical - Edison Hall 10/08/09 07:00 PM
As a result of medication, an individual felt faint and was seeing double. The patient was treated at the scene and declined further medical attention. Closed - C.

Theft - College Center 10/08/09 12:23 PM
An individual left a cell phone charger unattended. When she returned to retrieve the charger, it was no longer there. There are no witnesses or suspects at this time. UPDATE: 10/9/09 - Charger was turned into Lost and Found and the owner retrieved the property. Theft unfounded. Closed - C.

An individual left her cell phone charging in the area near the stairwell in College Center. When she returned, the phone was no longer there. At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspects. UPDATED 10/9/09 - Cell phone was turned into Lost and Found and the owner retrieved the property. Theft unfounded. Closed - C.

Damaged Vehicle - Parking Lot #6 10/07/09 01:55 PM
A large tree branch had fallen onto a parked vehicle. The vehicle sustained paint and scratch damage, as well as front bumper damage. Closed - C.

A staff member reported graffiti being written on the ceiling of the gazebo located by Main Hall. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time. Open Case.

An individual suffered a panic/anxiety attack. The patient refused medical attention. Closed - C.

An individual experienced a seizure. EMS was called and the patient was treated at the scene. The patient was then transported to a local hospital. Closed - C.

Hit and Run - Parking Lot #1 10/05/09 04:33 PM
Vehicle #1 was parked in Lot #1 when it was struck from behind by Vehicle #2 which was attempting to park next to it. The driver of Vehicle #2 then fled the scene of the accident. Vehicle #1 sustained scrapes and paint transfer to its back bumper. Closed - C.

A pull station was activated in the rear hallway near room 113. There were no signs of smoke or fire. The fire department responded as did Facilities Maintenance. The alarm was reset. Open Case.

Misc. Assist - Johnson Learning Center 10/01/09 05:02 PM
An individual was stuck in an elevator in the Johnson Learning Center. Facilities Maintenance was able to reset the power to the elevator and it returned to the basement where the occupant was removed without any injuries. Closed - C.

Disruptive Behavior - IRC 10/01/09 05:15 PM
Three individuals were being loud and disruptive and were asked to quiet down several times. One of those individuals then became involved in a verbal confrontation with the complainant. Police had those involved removed from the Media Room. After exiting the IRC, one of the individuals got into an argument with a male outside of the building hurling threats towards him. The three were then advised to leave campus. Referred CSC.

Theft - Area Outside of College Center 10/01/09 10:47 AM
An individual left her wallet on a bench outside of College Center. When she went back to retrieve it, the wallet was no longer there. There are no known witnesses or suspects. UPDATE: 10/1/09 at approximately 1:15 pm, the wallet was recovered in College Center. Nothing was believed missing from the wallet. Theft unfounded. Closed - C.

Theft - Cafeteria 10/01/09 09:37 AM
A staff member witnessed an individual walk out of the Winners Circle without paying for several items. The suspect was approached outside of the Bookstore regarding his actions. The suspect stated that he had forgotten to pay and was going back to the Cafeteria to do so. The suspect was advised not to return to the Winners Circle in the future. Closed - C.

Verbal Dispute - Parking Lot #5 10/01/09 05:59 PM
A verbal dispute erupted over a parking space which an individual was standing in trying to save for a friend. After police intervened, the individual complied with the request to move to allow the vehicle to park. Closed - C.
