Summer Financial Aid

You may be eligible for financial aid for the Summer 2013 semester. Federal Pell Grants and Direct Student Loans are available during the Summer 2013 semester to those students who are eligible. There is a maximum amount a student may receive each academic year for both the Federal Pell Grant and Direct Student Loans. There is no funding available in the Summer semester for the SEOG Grant and the Tuition Aid Grant (TAG).

The MCC Financial Aid Office will use your 2012-2013 FAFSA to award financial aid for the Summer 2013 semester. If you have not yet completed your 2012-2013 FAFSA, you can do online at www.fafsa.gov. If you have already applied for financial aid for the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 semesters, you have already completed your 2012-2013 FAFSA.

If you have remaining eligibility from the 2012-2013 academic year, you may be eligible for financial aid for the courses you take during the Summer 2013 semester sessions. Your financial aid will be processed for the entire summer session.

Pell Grant

If you maintained part-time enrollment for the Fall 2012 or the Spring 2013 and received a Federal Pell Grant, you may be eligible for additional Pell funds during the Summer 2013 semester. If you are a transfer student into MCC, the Financial Aid office will consider all Pell Grant funds received at the school you attended during the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters.

Loans

You must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits during the summer (combination of all Summer sessions will be considered) to be eligible for a Federal Direct Student loan. Summer loan disbursement will not occur until at least six credits of enrollment has confirmed. Please access our loan page to inquire as to the process for obtaining student loans.  If you are a transfer student into MCC, the Financial Aid office will consider all Direct Loan funds received at the school you attended during the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters.
