Summer Financial Aid
You may be eligible for financial aid for the Summer 2014 semester. Federal Pell Grants and Direct Student Loans are available during the Summer 2014 semester to those students who are eligible. There is a maximum amount a student may receive each academic year for both the Federal Pell Grant and Direct Student Loans. There is no funding available in the Summer semester for the Tuition Aid Grant (TAG).
The MCC Financial Aid Office will use your 2413-2014 FAFSA to award financial aid for the Summer 2014 semester. If you have not yet completed your 2013-2014 FAFSA, you can do online at www.fafsa.gov. If you have already applied for financial aid for the Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 semesters, you have already completed your 2013-2014 FAFSA.
If you have remaining eligibility from the 2013-2014 academic year, you may be eligible for financial aid for the courses you take during the Summer 2014 semester sessions. Your financial aid will be processed for the entire summer session.
Satisfactory Academic Progress is calculated at the end of each semester. To receive any Federal aid for the Summer 2014 semester you must submit your SAP Appeal by June 20th, 2014. To determine your SAP Status, please access Campus Cruiser, Web Advisor, Financial Aid Menu on left and click on 'SAP Status' – If your SAP Status reflects 'Satisfactory', ' Warning' or "Probation" you do NOT have to submit an SAP Appeal for the Summer 2014 semester. View the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
If you maintained part-time enrollment for the Fall 2013 or the Spring 2014 and received a Federal Pell Grant, you may be eligible for additional Pell funds during the Summer 2014 semester. If you are a transfer student into MCC, the Financial Aid office will consider all Pell Grant funds received at the school you attended during the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters.

You must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits during the summer (combination of all Summer sessions will be considered) to be eligible for a Federal Direct Student loan. Summer loan disbursement will not occur until at least six credits of enrollment has confirmed. Please access our loan page to inquire as to the process for obtaining student loans. If you are a transfer student into MCC, the Financial Aid office will consider all Direct Loan funds received at the school you attended during the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters.
