Service to the College, Anniversary and Alumna of the Year Awards
The College honored numerous members of the faculty and staff, plus the Alumna of the Year, during Celebration Day May 14.
Eileen K. Palumbo, director of shared service benefits at Johnson & Johnson and a member of the Middlesex County College Board of Trustees, was presented with the 2010 Alumna of the Year Award.
Mrs. Palumbo earned an associate's degree in management at Middlesex and a bachelor's degree in management from Rutgers University. She has built her 39-year career at Johnson & Johnson, where she has held several professional-level positions of increasing responsibility within Human Resources. Mrs. Palumbo is currently responsible for the benefits administration of all domestic employees and retirees and supports day-to-day activities as well as strategic initiatives such as acquisitions and divestitures.
A member of the board since 2006, Mrs. Palumbo serves on the Human Resources and Nominations committees.
"As a former student and graduate of Middlesex County College and a current member of the Board of Trustees of the College, I am very honored to receive this award," she said. "I accept the award with gratitude and appreciation."
Four faculty and staff were presented with Outstanding Service to the College Awards. They are: James Finne, Faculty; Lynn Tobin, Adjunct Faculty; Zenora Lala, Staff; and Robert Smilek, Administrator.
Patricia Moran, director of the College's Institute for Management and Technical Development, was presented with a special award for her work with the Workforce Consortium.
Service awards were presented to those employees completing 10, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service at the College.
