College President Joann La Perla-Morales greeted the College community at the Fall Convocation August 31 and talked about successes of the past – 2009 marks the 45th anniversary of the College – and plans for the future.
Governor Signs "Troops to College" Bill on Campus
Governor Jon Corzine signed the "Troops to College" bill at a ceremony at Middlesex County College September 13. The bill, which aids service members returning to college in New Jersey, was lauded by Middlesex student Peter Guarraci, an Army veteran of the Iraqi War who spoke at the ceremony.
Students Start Successfully at MCC
Orientation has a new look – one that is drawing rave reviews from students. New students are in groups of about 20; they learn about the College and are able to register on the same day. Middlesex conducted 81 sessions from April to September and saw approximately 2500 students.

Those attending CELT's Faculty Professional Day had the opportunity to hear from a group of students about what teaching and classroom elements help them learn most effectively.
New Program Trains Workers in Green Jobs
A new program run by the College's Institute for Management and Technical Development, which handles customized training for business, trained workers in "Electronics for Green Jobs."
