Voter Registration Drive & Education
The Educational Opportunity Fund Club of Middlesex County College provides Voter Registration applications (English and Spanish) and information to the campus community.
"The voter registration process in students became a major concern throughout the United States and prompted government, public and business officials to create a systematic procedure to support students in the democratic process. In the Spring of 2004 the former New Jersey Attorney General, Peter C. Harvey, and his office sponsored outreach initiatives in support of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). One of the initiatives was called the "Be Powerful, Be Heard" program designed to educate students on the significance of voting and the need for proactive voter registration." Students and staff members can obtain voter registration information by contacting the EOF Club or Advisor, Dr. Victor Vega, at South 1 Bldg., Rm. 107 (732.906.2544). Visit a Voter Registration table or booth in the College Center to get applications. Also, applications and information can be received by contacting NJ Voter information at 877 NJ VOTER (658-6837) or visiting the following Voter Registration site http://www.njelections.org/voting-information.html.
