Dr. Steven Barnhart is Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of History and Social Science at Middlesex County College. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with special expertise in learning technologies. Dr. Barnhart speaks internationally about learning and meaningful contact with culture, and is currently working with UNESCO to develop guidelines and standards for educators in Asia and the Pacific, including China, India, Afghanistan, Japan, and Thailand. He serves on the college’s strategically important Academic Technology Advisory Committee whose highest priority charge is to encourage infusions of meaningful technologies into instruction. Dr. Barnhart is also an editor and frequent contributor to Middlesex: A Literary Journal.
